In this paper, 4 different designs of a centrifugal pump impeller were analysed and compared using finite element analysis (FEA) under static analysis. The main requirement is to ensure that the impeller blade can withstand the level of stress thereby reducing the chance of blade fracture. Therefore, the impeller requires as many analysis as possible to maximise its efficiency.

The impeller blade is among the many critical components in a centrifugal pump that affect the efficiency of the pump, as it is the component through which the fluid passes. Performance of the impellers was compared based on inlet and outlet power, impeller efficiency, pressure distribution, and static head pressure produced. As a result, the performance of the impeller increases as the efficiency increases. It can also be observed that the efficiency of the impeller increases as the rotation speed increases. The pressure increases gradually from impeller inlet to impeller outlet. From the simulation results, it can be observed that as the rotation speed of the impeller increases, the pressure within the impeller increases. Shear Stress Transport (SST) was chosen for turbulence model for this project. Design and simulation were conducted using ANSYS CFX, using the Navier-Stokes equation. This paper revolves around the idea of design and analysis of centrifugal pump for performance enhancement within the pump specifications.
